Mystic Cruises achieves Green Marine certification alongside Mystic Ocean

On September 24th in Brussels, Mystic Cruises received the Green Marine Europe certification, together with its sister company Mystic Ocean, both part of the MysticInvest Holding group. This European program is recognized for its high environmental standards and currently monitors over 530 certified vessels across 12 countries, serving as a key framework to guide sustainability in the maritime sector, going beyond current regulatory requirements.

This recognition marks an important milestone for the group’s maritime companies, strengthening Mystic Cruises’ position as a reference in the sustainable expedition cruise industry. Its fleet of four expedition ships, operating in destinations such as the Arctic and Antarctica, was designed from the outset with innovative features, including hybrid propulsion systems, advanced waste management solutions, and water treatment technologies, ensuring energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact.

Earlier this year, Mystic Cruises joined the Green Marine Europe program, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable operations and ocean protection. The certification now obtained officially acknowledges these innovative practices, providing international validation of the company’s effort to make sustainability a central pillar of its operational strategy. Membership in the program also aligns Mystic Cruises with ambitious European targets, such as reducing carbon intensity by 40% by 2030, improving waste management, and preventing plastic pollution, further strengthening the company’s commitment to protecting marine ecosystems.
